Connecting Your Nutrogen Account to Zapier

This article guides Nutrogen Customer Admins through the process of connecting their Nutrogen platform account to Zapier

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prerequisite: Ensure you have an active Zapier account. (0:14)

  2. Log in to your Zapier account and start creating a new Zap or edit an existing one.

  3. When adding an "Action" step to your Zap workflow, search for the "nutrogen-platform" app. Select the nutrogen-platform (0.0.1) Invite Only option. (0:20 - 0:26 shows searching and selecting the app)

  4. Choose the specific "Action Event" you want Zapier to perform in Nutrogen (e.g., "Create User"). (0:33 shows "Create User" is selected in the Action Event dropdown)

  5. Proceed to the "Account" connection section within the Zap setup. Click the button to connect a new Nutrogen account (this may say "Connect an account", "Add a new account", or "Change" if one was previously attempted). (0:35 - 0:38 shows the Account section)

  6. A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to allow Zapier access to your Nutrogen account. This window requires your Nutrogen API Client ID and Client Secret. (0:41 - 0:45 shows the connection window)

  7. To retrieve these credentials:

    • Log in to your Nutrogen platform account.

    • Navigate to Settings in the main left-hand menu. (0:49 - 0:51)

    • Within Settings, select API Token Management. (0:51 - 0:54)

    • If you don't already have a token generated for Zapier, click the button to Generate new token. (0:56 - 0:58)

    • Nutrogen will display your Client ID and Client Secret. (0:59 - 1:02)

  8. Crucial Step: Copy the Client Secret immediately and save it in a secure location (like a password manager). It will only be displayed once. (1:03 - 1:09)

  9. Return to the Zapier connection pop-up window.

  10. Paste the Client ID from Nutrogen into the "Client ID" field. (1:14)

  11. Paste the saved Client Secret from Nutrogen into the "Client Secret" field. (1:15)

  12. Click the confirmation button (e.g., "Yes, Continue to nutrogen-platform (0.0.1)"). (1:13 shows the button)

  13. Zapier will confirm the connection. Your Nutrogen account is now linked, and you can click "Continue" in the Zap editor to proceed with configuring the specific details of your chosen action (like mapping fields to create a new user). (1:19 - 1:28 shows the Zap editor after successful connection, ready for configuration)

You have now successfully connected Nutrogen to Zapier and can build automations to streamline your workflows.
