Step-by-Step Guide:
Access the Nutritional Database.
Log in to the Nutrogen platform.
Navigate to the "Nutrition" section in the left-hand menu.
Select "Food Databases". (Screenshot at 0:09-0:11 shows the navigation to the food database.)
Interpreting Verification Icons:
Green Checkmark: Indicates that the food ingredient's nutritional information has been verified from an official database, such as AUSNUT. (Screenshot at 0:27 shows the green checkmark.)
Warning Icon: Indicates that the macronutrient amounts added do not match the calorie amount added into the system. The nutritional data is possibly inconsistent, use with caution. (Screenshot at 0:14-0:16 shows the warning icon.)
No Icon: For custom food items, the absence of an icon signifies that while the entered data is consistent, Nutrogen cannot guarantee the accuracy, since it has not been scientifically verified. (Screenshot at 1:05 shows the lack of icon.)
Filtering by Official Database:
To view only verified food items, click on "All Databases" and select an official database like "AUSNUT." (Screenshot at 0:19-0:24 shows the filtering process.)
Using the Mobile App:
Note that these icons will also appear in the Nutrogen mobile app when your members are searching for foods.
Benefits of Understanding Icons:
Helps you and your members make informed decisions about food selections.
Allows you and your members to prioritize ingredients from trusted, verified sources.
Provides greater confidence in the accuracy of nutritional tracking and meal planning.
How Nutrogen calculates custom ingredients:
If you add a custom food ingredient and the macronutrient information doesn't add up correctly to the caloric values, then you will see a warning. If there is no warning, that means the macronutrients match the calorie amount, but the ingredient is not verified.
