How to Use Recipe Filters

Find recipes matching your nutritional needs, time, budget, and preferences

Updated over a week ago

Recipe filters, available to all users, are designed to make finding the perfect recipe simple and efficient based on your specific criteria.

Steps:

  1. Access Filters: Click on the 'Filters' icon (typically located in the top right corner) when viewing recipes.

  2. Apply Main Filters: Use the primary set of filters to narrow your search by common requirements:

    • Calories: Filter by the caloric content per serving.

    • Macronutrients: Refine search based on Protein, Carbohydrate, or Fat amounts.

    • Number of Ingredients: Find recipes based on complexity or simplicity.

    • Meal Type: Select the intended meal (e.g., Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack).

    • Preparation Time: Choose recipes that fit your available cooking time.

    • Portion Size: Filter by the number of servings the recipe yields.

    • Health & Allergy: Select labels matching specific dietary needs or restrictions (e.g., Vegan, Gluten-Free).

  3. Explore Additional Filters: Look for further filtering options which may include:

    • Micronutrients: Filter recipes based on specific vitamin or mineral content (potentially under an 'Additional Nutrition' section).

    • User-Created Labels: Utilize custom tags added by users during recipe creation for more personalized filtering, such as:

      • Season/Occasion: (e.g., Summer, Winter, Holiday)

      • Budget: Indication of cost (e.g., Budget, Mid-Range – note: this is a relative spectrum, not a specific currency amount).

      • Cuisine Type: (e.g., Italian, Thai, Mexican)

      • Popularity/Trends: (e.g., Trending, Kid-Friendly)

Important Considerations:

  • While filters help narrow down choices, always review the full recipe details (ingredients, instructions) to ensure it completely meets your needs, especially regarding allergies or critical dietary restrictions.
