Ingredient filters help you (admins/staff) and your members efficiently search the food database and locate specific items based on various criteria.
Steps:
Access Filters: Select the 'Filter' option within the food database or search area to reveal the available filtering tools.
Apply Basic Filters: Use the primary filters to narrow down your search results:
Food Type: Choose from broad categories like Fruit, Vegetables, Meat, Grains, Dairy, etc.
Calories: Specify a range or target for calorie count per 100g or 100ml.
Macronutrients: Filter based on Protein, Carbohydrate, or Fat content per 100g or 100ml.
Health & Allergy: Select filters relevant to specific dietary needs or restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, nut-free).
Use Advanced Nutrition Filters (Optional):
For more granular control, navigate to the 'Additional Nutrition' section (if available separately).
Filter by specific Micronutrients (e.g., Iron, Vitamin C, Calcium) and define the desired quantity per 100g. This is particularly helpful for targeting foods rich in specific vitamins or minerals.
Important Considerations:
AI Application: Please note that many health, allergy, and potentially other classifications are applied using Artificial Intelligence (AI) due to the vast amount of data.
Double-Check Results: While significant effort is made to ensure accuracy, the AI process means occasional inconsistencies can occur among millions of food items. It is crucial to always review and double-check that the filtered results accurately meet your specific requirements before relying on them.
